I am a full time faculty member and graduate studies chair at the Centre for Digital Media.
I completed my PhD at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Education in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy. My focus is in media and technology studies. Previously, I was a postdoctoral fellow with UBC working in Agency for Learning in Immersive and Virtual Environments (ALIVE) lab and am currently a co-investigator.
My applied research focuses on digital media and technology (please see my Research page for more details).
I am very passionate about the role of women in tech and how I can explore my own role through applied research and teaching. In particular, I want to focus on the idea of immersive experiences in entertainment and education (edutainment) and the role of thoughtful design. I am excited to continue my career in digital media studies.
I am also a Certified ScrumMaster® and Certified Agile Leader I
